Motivated by the urgent need to collect the stories and experiences of war veterans while they are still among us, the U.S. Congress created the Veterans History Project in October 2000. The legislation calls upon the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress to collect and preserve audio- and video-taped oral histories, along with documents such as letters, diaries, maps, photographs, and home movies, of America’s war veterans and those who served in support of them during World War I, World War II, and the Korean, Vietnam, and Persian Gulf wars.<\/span><\/p>\n
The Vietnam Helicopter Flight Crew Network (VHFCN)is a non profit veterans organization dedicated to the fulfillment of the following purposes: To provide a forum for recreational communications amongst a fraternity of aircrew members who served in Vietnam during the period 1961-75. Welcome to the Combat Helicopter Pilots Association web page. CHPA is a new Veterans organization open to any individual who piloted helicopters in combat for any of the US Armed Forces. We were incorporated in the District of Columbia on January 7, 2005, and are currently working on obtaining 501(c) 19 status from the IRS. We are an organization with both a local and national focus. Over the next year, local and state chapters will be formed across the country. These chapters will provide an opportunity for members to meet and socialize with other veteran helicopter pilots close to home. On the national level, CHPA will provide veterans service functions to our members including job mentoring and guidance in dealing with the VA.<\/span><\/p>\n
The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America\u2019s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

<\/span>Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.

Since March, 1997, the Virtual Wall honors the 58,220 men and women named on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Each name or photo on our index pages links to a personal memorial, either on this site or on personal web sites elsewhere. This site is not a complete database of Vietnam War casualties, it links only to memorials.<\/span><\/p>\n
The Moving Wall” is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial that has been touring the country for the past 16 years. When John Devitt attended the 1982 dedication in Washington, he felt the positive power of “The Wall”. He vowed to share that experience with those who did not have the opportunity to go to Washington.<\/span><\/p>\n
